FAMILY PORTRAIT NIEUWPOORT

Commissioned by Beaufort, ENLARG3D from Werkendam has created a unique artwork by artist Goshka Macuga. A group of sculptures on a socle depicts a small family scene. The imposing dimensions, with a total height of 6 meters, make it an impressive sight on the promenade of Nieuwpoort (Belgium).

To the eye, it appears to be a heavy object made of solid concrete, but appearances are deceiving: the sculptures are extremely light and therefore placed without heavy foundations.

The sculptures were initially made on a small scale by the artist and then 3D scanned and digitally scaled up to achieve the correct size.

ENLARG3D’s services encompassed the entire process from engineering, materialization, and production to on-site installation.
